With him was awarded the well-known Polish film director Krzysztof Zanussi

Worldliness, glamour, music and a dream location, the last floor of the elegant Vitkac, in the heart of Warsaw, welcomed 350 guests last June, the 12th, for the third edition of the prestigious Gazzetta Italia Award given to personalities who in their career have distinguished themselves in the relations between Italy and Poland.

Maestro Massimiliano Caldi, the only Italian, won the prize for his activity in Polish Philharmonics and for being a great promoter of Polish music in Italy. “It is an honour to receive this award – said Caldi excited – in front of a parterre that best represents the institutions and the Italian community in Poland, a country that is now my second home”.

This year, together with Massimiliano Caldi, the well-known Polish film director Krzysztof Zanussi received the award, among whose successes we remember the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival for the movie “The Year of the Quiet Sun”, the journalist Grażyna Torbicka who plays an important role in the promotion of Italian cinema in Poland and Jan Ostrowski, professor, art historian and director of the Krakow Castle strongly connected with Italian culture.

Together with the award-winning statuette, the winners also received a precious Murano glass vase.
